The Lockwood Group supports a C5ISR hardware and software program for a U.S. Army customer located at Aberdeen Proving Ground (APG), MD. This effort provides product technical support services for systems and equipment produced, fielded, modified, or sustained under PdM Network Modernization (NetMod) and PdM Mission Network within the Project Manager Tactical Network (PM TN), Program Executive Office C3T (PEO C3T).
The program supports the development, integration, and sustainment of mission-critical tactical network capabilities to maintain the Army’s technological advantage.
The Software Developer will design, develop, test, and maintain software applications supporting tactical network and C5ISR systems. This role works closely with analysts, engineers, and Government stakeholders to translate operational requirements into scalable, reliable software solutions.
The position requires strong software architecture skills, experience in structured development environments, and the ability to support mission-focused applications within DoD programs.
Design, develop, and maintain software applications supporting engineering and tactical network systems
Analyze user requirements and translate them into software architecture and functional specifications
Develop tools, interfaces, and embedded software components
Design, develop, and test operating systems-level software, compilers, and network distribution applications
Conduct unit, integration, and system-level testing to identify and resolve software defects
Create and maintain technical documentation, including user guides and system specifications
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure software functionality, performance, and security across platforms
Identify opportunities for system improvements and implement updates based on user feedback
Bachelor of Science degree
Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in software development
Experience analyzing user requirements and developing software architecture solutions
Experience conducting testing and debugging activities
Experience developing software documentation and technical specifications
Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, C#, and/or JavaScript
Active DoD Secret clearance
U.S. Citizenship required
Minimum 5 years supporting software development within Department of Defense programs
Experience developing embedded systems software
Experience supporting tactical network or C5ISR systems
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to implement effective technical solutions
Experience supporting programs at Aberdeen Proving Ground
Ability to remain stationary approximately 50% of the time
Occasional movement within an office environment
Ability to communicate effectively with coworkers, management, and customers, including delivering technical information
