The Lockwood Group is looking to hire a Technical Writer/Editor supporting our Army customer in Picatinny, NJ.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provide editing and formatting of documentation, displaying competence in the areas of correcting structural defects; improving clarity, precision, and readability; correction of errors in English usage and grammar; usage of appropriate security markings; and presentation of tabular/graphic material.
  • Edit, format, coordinate, and prepare CCDC AC technical reports for publishing. Perform research, review specifications, and use "hands-on" approach in the preparation, amendment, change, or revision of publications in commodity fields, such as weapons and ammunition, as required to publish technical reports. CCDC AC technical reports shall be written in accordance with ANSI/NISO Z39.18-2005 and in accordance to the CCDC AC technical report style guide.
  • Support CCDC AC engineers, scientists, researchers, and project managers to document research and findings in the appropriate technical report format and forms, and articles for the Journal of Army Science (JAS). JAS articles shall be written in accordance with the JAS style guide.
  • Coordinate and prepare technical documentation using Army established procedures and guidelines. Present pertinent information in an understandable manner considering the purpose of publications, items, and intended audience. The contractor shall have the overall responsibility for the presentation of written material (technical reports, articles, or dissertations) for publication.
Job Requirements:
  • Shall have professional experience as an engineer in one or more of the following disciplines- Chemical, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering
  • Bachelor’s Degree and/or Minimum of five (5) years’ experience as a lead or manager on a complex engineering task.
  • Secret Clearance required.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Shall have specific knowledge of Government, DoD and US Army engineering standards and practices.
