Operations Generalist

Position Description
The Lockwood Group is seeking an Operational Generalist to join Team Lockwood.  This opening is a great opportunity for highly motivated candidates with growth ambitions to join the company on the ground floor enabling our emergence as an industry leader delivering Mission Ready services and solutions to the Federal Government and Department of Defense.

This position will report to our COO and EXPRESS Program Manager working in tandem with our Corporate Operations and Project Operations teams to:

Operational and Project Duties
  • Manage and drive activity within the company’s operations department.
  • Serve as intermediary from Company Leadership to operational groups
  • Help to develop and mature existing processes and procedures
  • Provide Operational Support across company’s projects.
  • Experience in Operations and Administration functions
  • Document processes into standard operating procedures or other written procedures.
  • Evaluates current procedures and recommends changes to improve the efficiency of planning and scheduling of projects.
  • Update and revision control of briefings preparation, reports, etc.
  • Accomplish detailed planning for complex management projects, issues, and initiatives.
  • Applies skills and knowledge in data management, document control, computer support, project control, and related areas to individual and team efforts.
  • Help compile weekly and monthly reports, meeting notes and delivery requirements.
  • Serve as Alternate/Backup across Corporate Operations team
  • Manage and drive activity within the company’s operations department.
  • Serve as intermediary from Senior Management to all operational groups
  • Help to develop and mature existing processes and procedures
  • Develop ad-hoc spreadsheets and tools for business analysis
  • Effective use of everyone’s time should be the lens through which many decisions are made in this role.
  • Protect time and empower others.
  • Build bridges, not barriers.
  • Additional duty as assigned: may support the Contracts Management function for the incoming/outgoing flow of contractual paperwork.
  • Additional duty as assigned: may support the creation corporate KPI dashboard and provide KPI reporting during company monthly and quarterly reviews.

Security Duties
  • Become qualified security manager serving as Facility Security Officer (FSO), Insider Threat Program Security Officer (ITPSO), OPSEC Officer for the company.
  • Manage all elements of the company’s security program (facility, technology, and personnel).
  • Physical security of Lockwood offices in Belcamp, MD, Huntsville, AL and other future potential locations
  • Self-learner constantly staying ahead of the latest industry security trends.
  • Stay ahead of CMMC initiatives ensuring we maintain compliance
Technology Duties
  • Serve as interface to our outsourced Technology department to leverage their capabilities ensuring compliance with DOD’s CMMC requirements.
Job Qualifications
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Previous experience with a DOD contractor highly preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of operational or security experience
  • Personal computer literate with knowledge of email, word processing, and spreadsheet software.
  • Performs administrative/technical support, without continual supervision. 
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Outlook
