The Lockwood Group has an opening for a STS CVT Engineer for the Program Manager Tactical Networks as a Configuration Verification and Testing (CVT) Engineer for PdM UNCI. This opportunity will be located Fort Eisenhower, GA.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Identify and report problems and discrepancies to the functional managers.
- Recommend resolutions when unable to resolve problems.
- Manage and document systems configurations, trouble incidents, test procedures, and test execution/results.
- Exercise technical leadership to obtain agreement on required actions, schedules, and the resolution of conflicting points of view concerning support operations and Tactical Networks systems.
- Provide systems engineering support for SATCOM systems, baseband networking systems and equipment, line of sight (LOS) systems, wireless fidelity (Wi-Fi) systems, virtual machines (VM) and software development.
- Coordinate across the embedded support team to obtain concurrence and to implement plans of action to accomplish PdM objectives.
- Represent the PdM at planning conferences conducted by the Unit or other organizations. Collaborate with leadership and representatives from stakeholder organizations at all levels to coordinate and/or integrate PdM operations and objectives.
- Develop and present briefings as required to unit personnel regarding status of Systems Engineering and Network Architecture planning, and/or test efforts.
- Support network planning, network set up, configuration, troubleshooting and testing as well as teardown. Work closely with PdM personnel, unit field support engineers and representatives as well as other personnel to meet requirements.
- Occasional travel will be necessary. Travel requirements will vary and are contingent on the mission.
- Mission dictates extended weekend work (EWW). Positions may be subject to work uncommon hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or similar science equivalent and 3 or more years of experience or Military Occupation Specialty (MOS) in lieu of degree and 6 years of hands on experience in configuring and/or maintaining PM Tactical Network equipment.
- Active DoD Secret security clearance.
- Required knowledge of Systems Engineering processes and methodologies to include military network and communications systems engineering. Knowledge of Tactical Network systems, to include REDCOM, Cisco routers, switches, firewalls, Call Manager, PKI, VMs, and IP voice networks.
- Experience in network services such as DNS, DHCP, Mail, Active Directory, SharePoint, and other user services.
- Specialized experience gained performing work as an engineer in industry or as an active, reserve or National Guard unit is desired.
- Experienced in PM TN system products are desired. E
- Experience in acquisition (Systems Planning, Research, Development and Engineering (SPRDE)).
