The Lockwood Group is seeking a SATCOM Network Engineer to support the Project Manager Tactical Network program for our Army customer in APG, MD
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Knowledge of Converged Ethernet Over IP (EOIP) network.
- Knowledge of virtualization and storage technologies from VMware and Hyper-V.
- Provide support and technical guidance in all aspects of network architecture.
- Provide network engineering advice and guidance on network technologies as it pertains to individual programs.
- Develop equipment and network configurations and products.
- Knowledge and understanding of IP Encryption and its ability to interoperate with system architecture to meet IA requirements.
- Understanding all user requirements, architecture compliance, key elements, issues and general technical support and coordination.
- Knowledge of Tactical Satellite Communications equipment to include frequency converters, amplifiers, modems, antennas, and associated equipment.
- Gather mission needs statements, operational requirements Capability Development Documents (ORCDD), and Capability Production Documents (CPD) for Army’s tactical communications systems and translate requirements into technical solutions that are standards-based and cost efficient.
- Develop network architecture for adjacent, higher, and lower units, as well as for allied nations, other government agencies and commercial service interfaces.
- Knowledge and understanding current/future Force tactical and strategic military communications networks, as well as the architecture, protocols, Cyber Security, security, network management and physics underlying these systems.
- Responsible for the engineering design, development, integration, installation, operation, and maintenance of the Tactical Network.
- Leads and facilitate technical discussions with internal and external organizations.
- Support technology insertion testing relative to emerging Tactical Network requirements and capabilities.
- Provide technical expertise at field locations as needed.
Nice to have…
Expertise is required in Cisco products (ex. Routers, Switches and Firewalls). An active Cisco Certified Network Administrator (CCNA) certification or higher.
Knowledge of Tactical Satellite Communications Terminals. Specific Knowledge in Army flyaway and rapidly deployable terminals in X, Ku, Ka and C-Band.
Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree and at least 5 years of relevant SATCOM and Network Engineering experience

Design and Implementation of Network concepts employed in the tactical network

Position requires up to 20% travel

Must have an active Secret security clearance
