Job Opening
The Lockwood Group is looking to contingently hire a key personnel Software Programmer supporting DEVCOM Armaments Center in Picatinny, NJ.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Maintaining one or more modules of a well-established applications software programs
• Make periodic revision to code or updates technical documentation in response to changes in the activities being supported
• Debugs source code to correct program execution errors
• Exercises judgment in determining the most efficient methods for updating, testing, and debugging code
• Ensures that applications supporting the organization operate effectively
• Developing, adapting, and implementing new application development methods and models that incorporate new technologies, such as object oriented design and analysis and software architecture
• Improving in the design and development of applications that enhance the agency’s ability to accomplish mission critical program activities

QUALIFICATIONS:
• Be able to evaluate current ASP (3.0), VBScript, JavaScript code as well as T-SQL code for the identification of technical, logical, and design deficiencies for an overhaul and upgrade of a federal asset management system.
• Must have a working knowledge of C#, C++, C, or Java including some demonstrated commercial experience, and Demonstrated web application (not web site) development and deployment experience on Microsoft platforms including experience in top tier (HTML, ASP/ASP.Net, JavaScript), middle tier (COM, .Net), and bottom tier (SQL Server, stored procedures) building distributed applications.  

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
• The job requires at least 5 years of commercial software development experience.
• Ideally, experience in process engineering/improvement applications using web technologies with demonstrated expertise in n-layer system architecture, design and development would be preferable
• Minimum education is B.S. or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering or related field.
• Ideally, an M.S. in one of these fields for a deeper understanding of the core technologies in use is preferred
